The Dower House

The entrance porch opens to a large double aspect lounge featuring a cosy wood burner and a variety of comfortable sofas. The glazed door leading out to the rear walled terrace offers spectacular views of the sea and beach behind the house, making the TV largely redundant!

As you go in to the spacious open plan kitchen/dining/family room you will find a large Range Cooker, bespoke cupboards housing quality crockery, cutlery and wide range of cooking equipment as well as a dishwasher. A breakfast bar with additional seating separates the kitchen from the dining area but means both have stunning views of the sea and beach beyond, making cooking a treat! This dual aspect room also features a cosy wood burner and sofa in addition to the large oak dining table and chairs seating 8-10, perfect for your holiday get together.

Beyond this room is a well equipped utility room (including washing machine, Tumble Dryer, Sink, Ironing Board etc) which in turn leads to a downstairs WC and shower room, very handy after a day on the beach. A glazed door leads directly out to the walled stone terrace which in turn leads to a large shared wildlife garden through which access is gained to the beach and secluded bay.

The oak staircase leads up from the family room to the 4 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a large en-suite shower room and beautiful sea views. Snuggle under crisp cotton bed linen, quality duvets and pillows whilst listening to the waves lapping the shore below.

Bedroom 2 is another double of similar size and again with it’s own large en-suite shower room. This bedroom has views out to the front driveway and it’s frequent deer visitors with the ancient forest and ‘Fairy Hill’ behind!

A large family bathroom off the long landing has a bath with hand shower attachments and this is shared between bedrooms 3 and 4.

Bedroom 3 is a twin with views of the second beach and bay to the side of the Dower House. Bedroom 4 is another double, again with the lovely sea views to the rear.

As one would expect from a beautiful house of this quality there are oak floors and doors throughout, luxurious furnishings and fittings, original artworks, timber double glazing and full central heating too.

Although there is free Wifi, please note that it is limited due to the magical setting of the stone house, down a winding country lane carved through ancient forests on the edge of the southern coast of Islay.
